We Know What It Feels Like to Be Overlooked. That’s Why We Built the Solution.

There’s a moment many entrepreneurs know too well—the frustration of doing everything right and still not getting the funding, support, or recognition your business deserves. We’ve been there. We’ve seen it. We’ve lived it.

Funding Impact was created to change that story.

We exist because access to funding shouldn’t depend on who you know, what you look like, or how well you fit into outdated systems. It should depend on your vision, your effort, and your potential.

The Need

Across Canada, too many racialized and underserved entrepreneurs are still fighting to be seen and supported in the funding landscape.

They’re building incredible businesses—but facing barriers rooted in racism, inequity, bias, and broken systems. They’re often excluded from conversations about investment, denied access to capital, or left to navigate complicated funding programs alone.

We saw the exhaustion. The discouragement. The feeling of being ready for more but not knowing where to start.

The Solution

Funding Impact was built to close that gap.

We’re a social enterprise that works on both sides of the problem:

1. Through our non-profit arm, we drive advocacy, policy reform, and capacity building. We work with communities, funders, and institutions to dismantle systemic barriers and reimagine what equity in funding can look like.

2. Through our consulting and business services, we give entrepreneurs the tools, training, and support to become grant-ready, investment-ready, and sustainable. From grant writing and fundraising partnerships to investment readiness programs and automation tools like Built 2 Stack, we help founders access capital and scale confidently.

Together, both sides form one ecosystem—pushing for systemic change while giving entrepreneurs the resources they need right now.

How We Got Here

Funding Impact was founded by Jillisa Brown, a social finance strategist, fundraiser, and impact leader with over seven years of experience working across Canada’s funding and investment landscape.

Jillisa knows what it means to build from scratch. Her own entrepreneurial journey reflects resilience, faith, and a deep understanding of what it takes to turn obstacles into opportunities. She’s helped leaders raise millions, led national initiatives advancing equity in funding, and continues to shape conversations around access, capital, and representation.

She built Funding Impact for the founders who feel unseen. For the women balancing purpose and survival. For the innovators who have the ideas, but not the connections. And for every entrepreneur who’s ever thought, “If I could just get the funding, everything would change.”

Better business, higher revenue, more access.
